The documents get smaller and the conversations get constant, but the analysis does not go away. My main job is staying a step ahead, so by the time the team picks something up, the questions are already answered and they are not blocked waiting for a decision from the business. I do a lot of slicing, which is the underrated part, because getting a big requirement into pieces that each deliver something and are still testable is genuinely difficult and it is where most teams struggle. And I hold the why. When you are two weeks at a time it is very easy for everyone to lose sight of the objective, so I keep asking whether this still serves what we set out to do. Where there is a strong product owner I support them with the analysis and the detail. Where the product owner is a business person with a day job, I end up making a lot of those calls in practice and confirming them.
